The project ROHU456, managed by the Municipality of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County as the lead partner, will create a coherent cross-border tourism area based on the existing built cultural, historical and natural heritage values, in order to lay the foundations for sustainable development of the region and to increase its tourism and attractiveness.

Objectives of the project:
- to preserve, protect and promote natural heritage in an environmentally sustainable way;
- to make tourist destinations, historical and cultural heritage more attractive to the younger generation through advanced IT and interactive elements;
- sustainable and effective use of intangible and tangible heritage through comprehensive marketing and IT activities.
The aim of the project is to present the natural and cultural heritage of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Satu Mare County in an interactive and modern way, and to connect the existing tourist attractions and strengthen their synergies. The development sites are located close to existing attractions, thus providing visitors with additional activities beyond the immediate surroundings of the attraction, increasing the number of overnight stays in the whole region. The project's development initiatives will not focus exclusively on one specific age group, but rather on reaching out to all tourists and residents in the region through sophisticated tourism offerings, marketing and IT tools.
Project elements and activities of "Kölcsey" Nonprofit Ltd:
- Development of a natural heritage site (1): Nagykálló (Harangod), Eco Park and Visitor Centre Phase II
- Development of a rural tourism correspondent network with cross-border territorial relevance: Mátészalka (Bereg), Kisvárda (Szabolcs), Fehérgyarmat (Satu Mare, including Satu Mare County [RO]), implementation of small-scale marketing activities
- Development and implementation of online and offline marketing tools, preparation of a communication plan
